The role: As the Head Chef, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing our clients' kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will lead the preparation of nutritious meals for the residents, whilst also mentoring a team of junior chefs to achieve excellent results. Your key responsibilities will also include, however aren't limited to: Leading the kitchen team to prepare and deliver meals which meet the residents' requirements Developing menus which are nutritious and appealing, considering the dietary preferences and requirements of residents Fostering a culture of growth and development across the entire kitchen team Maintaining inventory levels, managing the kitchen budget and driving purchasing strategies Upholding strict hygiene and food safety standards, ensuring all relevant health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times The ideal candidate: The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience as a Head Chef or within a similar role, ideally within an aged care setting. You will possess a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent and an in-depth knowledge of the IDDSI Framework, with experience implementing this into meal planning & preparation. You'll be a leader who is able to motivate a team of chefs, utilising your strong communication and interpersonal skills on a daily basis.
