With our cutting-edge technology and exceptional customer service, we are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our Commercial / Business Development team and take a leading role in promoting eco-friendly refrigeration solutions.
About the Position: The Technical Sales Engineer will play a vital role in supporting sales and enhancing technical customer engagement related to our natural refrigerant systems, particularly focusing on Transcritical CO2 and R290 solutions in Refrigeration.
This position requires extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems, with a practical in-field background working in servicing supermarkets as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional customer support throughout all sales phases.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refrigeration, controls systems, product knowledge, and a passion for sustainable technologies, along with experience with natural refrigerants.
This customer-facing role involves generating technical proposals on refrigeration system designs, providing expert knowledge on natural refrigerants, and collaborating with clients to develop efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.
The role will have touch points from the pre-sell stage, selling stage, and post-installation stage of refrigeration systems and will require travel throughout Australia to ensure effective commissioning and operation of systems.
Aftermarket support will be required to troubleshoot any product queries.
Prompt response to customer inquiries will be expected to ensure we meet product SLA's and adherence to product support and warranty T&C's.
Role and Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide expert guidance on natural refrigeration systems specializing in Transcritical CO2 and support compliance and certification processes.Site Assessment & Proposal Development: Conduct onsite evaluations to gather data and develop customized refrigeration proposals, assessing existing systems for upgrade recommendations.Technical Proposal Creation: Prepare detailed proposals that include system equipment selection, energy efficiency, performance metrics, and cost estimates, highlighting the benefits of natural refrigerants.Customer Presentations: Deliver engaging presentations to prospective clients, demonstrating the technical advantages and environmental benefits of our solutions.Collaboration with Sales: Work closely with the sales team to offer technical insights and respond to client inquiries, differentiating Hussmann's offerings from competitors.Installation Support: Oversee the commissioning of systems, ensuring proper installation and troubleshooting any issues.Integration Support: Assist with the integration of refrigeration systems into existing infrastructures, providing guidance for optimal performance.
A good understanding of refrigeration controls is a must.Post-Installation Support: Maintain client relationships post-installation, offering maintenance guidance and conducting follow-up visits.Client Training: Conduct training sessions for client staff on operation and maintenance best practices.Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation detailing system configurations and operational guidelines.Skills: Proven experience in technical sales engineering, specifically within the refrigeration and HVAC industry, with a focus on natural refrigerants.In-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems, including condensing units, racks, and control systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and applications engineering skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for translating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Demonstrated ability to develop precise technical proposals and documentation.Deep passion for sustainability and promoting natural refrigerants as a viable environmental solution.Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as necessary for onsite client engagements and project oversight.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ISO, AS/NZS, EN Standards).Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.We have an extensive Benefits package that includes:
