This is a great opportunity for an experienced palliative care nurse to join a friendly team. The palliative care team is committed to providing care to client’s in their home at the end of their life and providing support to family and carers. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to carry a clinical caseload and gain leadership experience by providing mentorship and supervision to colleagues and other nursing staff. What You'll be Doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert Palliative Care practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. The Palliative Care CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The Palliative Care CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The Palliative Care CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of the care in the given specialty. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time experience in the specialty field and an approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation. Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
