Title: Transport Planner
Region: Deeside
Hours: Standard hours of work are 7.30 am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday + Saturdays on a rota basis

Role Summary:
1. Managing mixed fleet, from 3.5 / 7 Tonne on multi-drops & artics on single drops
2. Fleet size of 12, with own drivers
3. Delivering to both domestic & B2B
4. Planning and scheduling delivery routes for cylinder and tanker deliveries
5. Ensuring drivers have the correct paperwork to fulfil their deliveries
6. Having good geographical knowledge of the local area and North Wales
7. Providing leadership for daily distribution issues
8. Carrying out audit checks on the vehicles prior to leaving site
9. Being the primary contact for drivers throughout the day that experience vehicle or delivery issues
10. Responsibility for receiving vehicle defects and escalate to the Transport manager
11. Responsibility for managing driver’s hours and tachograph compliance
12. Working with the transport manager to have vehicles and trailers available for inspection and servicing in accordance with their schedules
13. Work closely with the team to maximise delivery efficiency
14. Serve customers with gas cylinders at the trade counter
15. During busy periods answer the phone for inbound calls
Requirements:
1. A proven transport planner who has planned for mixed fleet
2. Proficiency in IT applications
3. Ability to focus and provide solutions under pressure
4. Willingness to work additional hours to meet demand
5. Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
