Base salary will be in the range $111,154 - $124,619 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

About This Opportunity
AUSCERT (the Australian Cyber Emergency Response Team) is seeking a suitably qualified Team Lead to manage the Developer and System Administrator group on their day-to-day operational work and project related objectives. This role will also assist the General Manager in implementing strategic initiatives that will maintain AUSCERT as a premier commercially based computer and network security organisation.
AUSCERT is a not-for-profit, leading Cyber Emergency Response Team for organisations in Australia and the Pacific. Based at The University of Queensland, AUSCERT helps members prevent, detect, respond to and mitigate cyber threats. AUSCERT publishes vulnerability data, threat intelligence and other relevant resources for information security and IT professionals and remains on-call for members after hours. Formed in 1993, AUSCERT is one of the oldest CERTs in the world. The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia's premier learning and research institutions. UQ is renowned nationally and internationally for the quality of its teaching and research and enjoys ranking in the top 100 universities globally. AUSCERT leverages UQ's IT infrastructure for commodity-type resources and operates a bespoke environment for specialist CERT infrastructure and tools, internally supported by dedicated security system administrators. Key responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of developers to deliver projects, overseeing system administration and ensuring secure, efficient technology operations.
Maintain and enhance technology infrastructure, including AWS services, on-premises virtual machines, and containerised applications, to support AUSCERT's objectives.
Develop and implement an information security management system and supervise the software development life cycle in alignment with organizational standards.
Support the General Manager with strategic initiatives and operational responsibilities, contributing to research and service delivery across AUSCERT teams.

About You
Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent, with postgraduate qualifications or substantial progress toward them; or a comparable mix of relevant experience and education/training.
A demonstrable interest in information security and the infosec community.
A broad knowledge of the information technology area, including some or all of operating systems, system architecture, system administration, systems programming languages, network protocols and/or Public Key Infrastructure:
AWS Cloud Infrastructure
DevOps (Particularly using Ansible & AWS Cloudformation)
Linux Operating Systems (preferably RHEL and/or Debian)
Programming/Scripting - Either Python or Bash
Modern network protocols and security as it pertains to Cloud-based infrastructure (Subnets, Load balancing, Firewall/Security Groups)
Strong interpersonal skills for clear, confidential communication with diverse audiences, ensuring technical and policy accuracy in all content.
Demonstrable level of integrity and honesty commensurate with a position of trust
A proven ability to prepare risk assessments and policies and procedures in support of organisational requirements/goals
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to thoroughness and results
Proven commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of networking, computer and security standards, state-of-the-art developments and products.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc.
