The Senior Analyst is a key member of the performance reporting team responsible for measuring and reporting the performance and attribution of the REST's multiple investment strategies (Options).
As such, this role has a primary focus on building the operating framework alongside the manger, including the people, processes, and systems to enable performance reporting function.
Supporting the manager in overseeing the operations of the team, the Senior Analyst will play a key role in providing guidance, training and technical support to the Performance Reporting analysts.
The role will contribute subject matter expertise to broader organisational initiatives and take the lead on team based initiatives.
The Senior Performance Reporting Analyst will be responsible for:.
Delivering accurate and timely performance and exposure reports to external stakeholders including regulators, survey/ ratings houses.
Delivering accurate and timely performance reports to internal member communications teams, in support of reporting to investment governance committees at Board, Investment Committee, People Culture and Remuneration Committee and senior management levels.
Proactive monitoring of regulatory developments related to Rest's published performance results and production of associated commentary and analysis (e.g., APRA Performance Tests).
Developing and maintaining the Whole of Fund attribution model and provide training.
Identifying sources of outperformance or underperformances and provide insights to key stakeholders.
Oversight of the daily performance reporting provided by Rest's custodian including oversight of their service levels and deliverables.
Proactive expansion of Rest's investment reporting capability to fully support new and evolving stakeholder needs and governance processes.
Liaising with internal stakeholders including the Rest Investment Team in relation to performance reporting matters, responding to queries and helping to ensure that all Performance Reporting requirements are met.
Reviewing and enhancing existing performance reporting processes through automation, simplification, and control improvement to reduce risk of error and create efficiencies.
Assist in regulatory reporting including APRA reporting, RG97, portfolio holding disclosure, and OTC derivatives and ensure performance data points included are timely and accurate.
Analysing the impact of regulatory changes relating to performance reporting and adapting processes and controls to ensure compliance.
Contributing to the design and ongoing validation of external manager Performance fee models and calculations.
Develop ex-post-performance reporting across manager, sector, asset class and option level with a focus on continuous improvement and insights that will aid portfolio construction, absolute and APRA benchmark relative performance.
Partner and support the Investment Analytics team as required.
Assist in the management of daily operations, aligning with the best practices and in accordance with organisational requirements.
Provide guidance, training, mentoring and feedback as required.
Contribute to the development and refinement of internal controls and workflows.
Utilise a suite of reporting and analytics solutions, such as State Street Alpha / Charles River and FactSet to enhance and automate current reporting Qualifications Relevant tertiary or technical qualifications in Commerce, Mathematics, Information Management, Finance or related field Fluency in FactSet, and Whole of Fund attribution model based on notional exposure of derivatives (FX Forwards, Equity and Fixed Income Futures, etc.)
CIPM, CAIA and CFA are highly desirable Required experience, understanding or credentials including : Proven experience in an analytics, risk or performance reporting function within investment organisations or other related organisations such as custodians or vendors.
Knowledge of standard performance calculation methodologies (E.g.
Unit price, time-weighted, money weighted etc.)
Knowledge of standard derivative financial instruments used in portfolio constructions and the impacts to the Whole of Fund Performance.
Ability to incorporate the notional exposures in the return calculation, including the notional hedged returns.
Ability to interpret performance attribution results and communicate them to portfolio managers and other senior members of the investment team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills and high level of numerical literacy.
Proven ability to have the end-to-end ownership of the operational BAU including engaging key stakeholders to discover, discuss and resolve complex queries.
Provide guidance to junior members within the team on technical issues and other development opportunities.
Demonstrable experience with Investment data solutions in an Asset Owner environment e.g.
Custodian Data Services, Front Office platforms, FactSet, Bloomberg, Third Party Investment Data Management platforms, Custom Investment Reporting Data Analytics solutions or similar Proven ability to identify and lead a change/improvement initiative and deliver on the result.
Excellent stakeholder communication, engagement and influencing skills ranging from C-suite to Analyst positions.
