Part-Time Student Library Assistant- CSEP
This position is available to domestic, current Algonquin students at the Perth campus.
About the Position
The successful candidate will provide assistance to library patrons, maintain library materials, and perform various administrative tasks. The incumbent reports to the Manager, Student Learning Centre & Libraries.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain patron records in the integrated library system.
* Provide guidance to patrons on resource usage.
* Assist with technical issues related to computers, printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
* Offer general information and problem-solving services.
* Perform duties such as straightening furniture and shelving materials as required.
* Provide front desk services and telephone responses.
Requirements:
* Funded through the College Student Employment Program (CSEP). Eligible applicants must meet program requirements.
* Currently enrolled in a full-time program.
* Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person/Convention Refugee within the meaning of subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada).
* Demonstrate financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding.
Qualifications:
* Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma.
* Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and complete projects with minimal direction.
* Self-motivated and self-directed.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multi-task and possess a high attention to detail.
* Proficient communication skills (oral and written).
* A proven ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgement when handling private information.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Previous work experience in a Library or office environment considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
This position is fully onsite at the Perth Campus. Anticipated schedule: 10-13 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available.
