About the Role
Lead the Child Protection Practice Group, mentoring and supervising legal staffProvide legal advice and representation to clients in the Local and Supreme CourtsConduct urban and remote legal advice clinicsHandle litigation and casework in civil law, including child protection, police accountability, discrimination, and tenancyDevelop and implement civil law policies and proceduresSupport regional NAAJA offices, including remote travel and legal outreachWhat we are looking for – Key criteria
Admitted or eligible for admission as a solicitor in NT and the High Court of Australia4+ years post-admission experience in civil law, with a focus on litigation and caseworkProven leadership & mentoring skills in a legal settingStrong cross-cultural communication skills & commitment to social justiceAbility to travel to remote Aboriginal communitiesCurrent driver's licence & Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance)No criminal history that disqualifies legal practice employmentWhy Darwin?
