Mills Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in Perth for a 6 month contract.
Our client stands at the forefront of high-impact projects across Australia, excelling in areas such as mining, minerals processing, LNG installations, refineries, chemical plants, power stations, procurement, and telecommunications.
Job Summary: As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the engineering team to execute medium to large EPC and/or EPCM projects. This role requires strong technical skills in electrical design, development, and evaluation, ensuring project-specific engineering requirements are met to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
* Lead electrical work on medium-sized projects, employing independent judgment and advanced engineering techniques.
* Provide technical input to meet procurement standards and evaluate suppliers.
* Review and recommend on bid evaluations and awards.
* Design switchrooms, perform cable calculations, and oversee tie-ins for overhead powerlines.
* Guide the design, modification, and assessment of electrical components for power generation and distribution.
* Approve key calculations, design documents, specifications, and change orders.
* Present solutions for complex technical issues to upper management and clients.
* Develop conceptual designs and support project estimates, staffing, and scheduling.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
* 10-15 years of relevant experience, preferably in EPC/EPCM environments, with expertise in large mining projects, utilities, power plants, and oil and gas facilities.
* Experience in FEED, proposal, and detailed engineering.
* Knowledge of electrical engineering systems, calculations, and CAD tools (2D/3D).
* Familiarity with procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational standards for large industrial plants.
* In-depth understanding of technical and cost-related design feature selection.
