The Hall & Wilcox IP and Technology team sits within the C&C team and is a well-established and growing practice that works across a broad range of intellectual property and technology matters.
The IP and Technology team has 3 highly regarded partners and approximately 5 other team members.The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and lawyers in our IP and Technology team.
You will advise on commercial transactions in the fields of IT, telecommunications and media, including system procurements, cloud services, AI, outsourcing, licensing, privacy and data protection, copyright and trademarks.You will be involved in a variety of matters including:Major IT projects, and IT and technology contracts including technology procurement and project agreements, SaaS agreements, software licensing and support agreements and technology outsourcing agreements;Intellectual property commercialisation and licensing, including technology commercialisation agreements, joint ventures and other commercialisation structures;Privacy and competition and consumer law;Drafting and negotiating transaction and other commercial contracts and documents.This is a hands-on role which provides the opportunity to work with interesting clients, including the NSW government and financial institutions in relation to major IT projects.This is a well-established and growing team, which has a solid client base across various industries including infrastructure, financial services, FMCG, automotive, sports & entertainment and agribusiness.
The work is challenging, complex, and rewarding, and provides significant learning and development opportunities.About youYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:At least five years of post-admission experience in IT, TMT and commercialisation matters;Ideally experience gained from within a top tier or mid tier law firm or a recognised specialist IP/IT law firm;Experience working on government matters, or undertaking secondments in government departments, will be highly regarded;Technical excellence with outstanding attention to detail;Commercially savvy;A team player and critical thinker with a can-do approach.About usHall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
