Qube Ports is the leading Stevedoring, Bulk Logistics and Port Management service provider in Australia.Qube Ports manages 25 sites for the forestry industry in Australia and New Zealand and is also the leading provider of supply chain logistics services to the energy sector, supporting thousands of onshore wells and rig supply vessels, barges and offshore construction vessels annually.We lead the market in providing purpose-designed solutions for our customers, handling containers, bulk, automotive and general cargo.Specific ResponsibilitiesParticipate within the on stand-by RosterProvide trade guidance and assistance as part of the workshop team.To be able to take directions from the Fleet and Workshop Manager and be able to direct the workshop team as required.Perform maintenance tasks including inspection, servicing, repair and overhaul of fixed plant, pumps, road making, earthmoving machinery and other mobile equipment as required.Perform fault diagnosis and rectifications to mechanical equipment and systems associated with Council operations.Perform technical inspections on mechanical equipment and assess parts and materials required to effect repairs.Conduct maintenance and repairs in the workshop or out on the worksite as needed.Mentor and support apprentices and tradespeople as required.Ensure that housekeeping and safety in the workshop is maintained.Maintain a strong customer focus on all duties and work carried out as well as ensuring effective communication is maintained with Infrastructure supervisors and plant operators.Provide advice and support plant operators in correct maintenance procedures.Carry out all duties in line with Council’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures and adhere to any legislative obligations.Other such relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position as directed by your accountable supervisor or the Service Manager.Participate in reviews and improvements of processes, including document review and amendments.Ensure that required asset master data is complete to enable work to be undertaken in accordance with the principles and processes set out in the Aus standard.Qualifications And ExperienceTrade qualified Diesel MechanicMinimum of 5 years' experience in the heavy vehicle or engine related business or similarExperience in a heavy industry transport or mining environmentPrevious experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Mechanic is highly desirableStrong desire to lead, motivate and coach a high performing teamAbility to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environmentEnsure all work is completed safely and efficiently.Why QubeUp to 50% off gyms, studios, active wear, healthy meals, supplements, recovery and more through the Qube Fit program.Discounted health insuranceSpecial paid leave to participate in volunteering activitiesUnlimited access to employee assistance program delivered through BenestarGenerous paid parental leave for eligible employees.This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is experiencing rapid growth and continued leadership.
