The Role
Ventia has an exciting opportunity and is currently offering Boilermaker Apprenticeship opportunities. This is your chance to earn while you learn, working alongside experienced professionals in one of Australia's most dynamic regions while completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.
Our exciting apprenticeship programs are specially designed to deliver the high standard of learning required to gain a trade qualification. As an apprentice with us, our four-year program will give you on-the-job experience whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
As part of our ongoing maintenance work in the Pilbara, these positions are an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to be a key part of our operational teams, contributing to major projects and maintenance services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be working in the Port Hedland workshop, as well as on sites ranging from Goldfields to the Pilbara region.
Who we're looking for:
The successful candidate for this role will be able to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship in a technically challenging career. This position may also suit someone who has been working in the industry and has been wanting to secure an apprenticeship.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting tradespeople with day-to-day maintenance, repair, and installation tasks
* Report all defective equipment and tools to the supervisor so that required maintenance can be scheduled
* Handling materials and tools in a safe and efficient manner
* Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and company standards
* Performing general housekeeping and maintenance tasks as required
To be considered you will have:
* Based locally in Port Hedland
* Successfully completed Year 11 or 12 (with passes in Math's & English) and/or pre-vocational training
* Willingness to work in a team environment
* WA Drivers Licence
* White Card / Construction Induction
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
