The Employee Relations Specialist will play a key role in assisting our US facility operations team to raise the bar on talent management, support our drive to maintain our high-performance culture and provide internal coaching and support to the facility management team. Responsibilities & Duties: Provide day-to-day guidance to the management team regarding P&C policies, procedures, legislation, coaching, counseling, career development, employee relations and performance management. Prepare documentation on employee related matters (i.e. employment and performance letters). Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements (US Federal & state) in order to provide consultation on issues related to legal and company procedural compliance, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Ensure best in class P&C on-boarding experience to all new employees. Administer employee leave of absences (i.e. workers compensation, FMLA, medical, maternity and paternity leave). Promote and support the Health & Safety programs to increase employee awareness. In collaboration with the Operations Manager participate in regular Health & Safety committee meetings. Support site Operations Manager in investigating and reporting workplace injuries and incidents, including recommendation to prevent reoccurrence. Maintain appropriate records of safe work procedures and safety reports. Analyze and develop insights from people data (exit interviews, 30-60-90 day employee surveys and manager interviews) to identify trends for development and retention strategies. Work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to ensure all aspects of the recruitment and selection process is supported. Lead special projects as required by the business unit or P&C team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline. Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a Generalist, Advisor or Business Partner function. In depth experience in employee relations and complex employment legislation. Active listening skills, customer focused and professional. Proven ability to apply good judgement and analytical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of an HRIS system an asset. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel) required.
