Due to ongoing development and success in key industry sectors, they are seeking a talented and passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced and challenging engineering business at our Edinburgh North, SA site.YOUR NEW ROLEReporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Design and DevelopmentDesign mechanical components, systems, or products according to specifications and requirements, including but not limited to material selection, structural analysis, fabrication design, and drafting.Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure designs meet performance criteria, safety regulations, technical specifications, and standards.Develop prototypes and test them to validate design concepts.Technical DocumentationCreate detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD (Autodesk Inventor) software.Document design assumptions, calculations, decisions, and test results for quality compliance purposes and future reference.Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.Quality Assurance and TestingAssist in the establishment of quality control processes to ensure manufactured products meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.Conduct or participate in performance tests, durability tests, and failure analysis to identify potential issues and improve product reliability.Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement improvements in production processes.Problem Solving and TroubleshootingIdentify and resolve technical issues or challenges during product development, testing, or production.Analyse root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, or service technicians.Continuous ImprovementParticipate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and lessons learned exercises to continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies.Seek feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into future designs or projects.Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.CollaborationCollaborate effectively with workshop personnel and provide engineering support to manufacturing activities.Provide expert advice and technical support to project managers to ensure excellent technical representation when interfacing with clients.Collaborate proactively with planners and estimators to ensure design robustness and product efficiency.ABOUT YOUThe desired applicant may have:You will hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong foundation in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD).You will be offered a salary range of between $80,000 - $100,000 pa + superannuation.Only successful applicants will be contacted.#J-18808-Ljbffr
