Description:
The BETA Technological Center was established in November 2014 with a small team of just three people. Through the enthusiasm and dedication of our young, dynamic, and multidisciplinary team, we have grown to over 100 professionals working cohesively toward our mission: contributing to the sustainable development of rural communities while enhancing their competitiveness and quality of life. We achieve this through research and innovation projects in the fields of agri-food systems and environmental sustainability, as well as by transferring innovative and competitive technologies to the private sector, incorporating sustainability criteria.
As the BETA Technological Center continues to grow and strengthen its trajectory, we are looking to recruit a motivated individual eager to establish themselves as a junior lead researcher in gaseous emissions. This role is part of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy team. The selected candidate will coordinate a team currently consisting of four members, with expectations of further growth. They will have the opportunity to drive cutting-edge research, supervise doctoral theses, and play a key role in consolidating this highly strategic line of work within BETA’s scope.
Specifically, the projects led by the successful candidate will focus on monitoring and mitigating gaseous emissions from agri-food systems, including agriculture—particularly the livestock sector—and the treatment and management of livestock manure. Additionally, they will work on waste and wastewater treatment processes in both urban and industrial settings. Another key challenge for the BETA Center is the purification and upgrading of biogas from anaerobic digestion plants, along with the valorisation of CO₂.
Functions and duties:
1. Leadership in monitoring, mitigation, and valorization of gaseous emissions: Oversee the team of researchers and technicians, coordinate research and innovation projects, and identify new opportunities.
2. Primary contact with the industrial sector: Engage with industry stakeholders to address challenges and provide solutions in gaseous emissions management.
3. Key contact for the public sector: Collaborate with government administrations and agencies to contribute to the development and improvement of public policies and regulations.
4. Technical management and project coordination: Supervise knowledge transfer initiatives and competitive projects at both national and European levels.
5. Team supervision and task allocation: Oversee and assign responsibilities to researchers, technicians, and doctoral students.
6. Promotion and implementation of standardized methodologies: Drive the adoption of best practices and standardized approaches in the field.
7. Participation in strategic and networking conferences: Represent the organization at key industry events to strengthen partnerships and stay at the forefront of advancements.
8. Proposal development for funding attraction: Prepare and submit funding proposals to secure new research and innovation opportunities.
