Your Role
As an Analyst, Peril Pricing you will be part of market leading team that is responsible for delivering peril pricing and reinsurance costs to the IAG business units across Australia and NZ. The current team members have expertise in actuarial sciences, engineering, GIS and catastrophe modelling. Your technical background will build on this knowledge to deliver analytical insights to the Group as well as contribute to the engines pioneered by the team. You will build close relationships with diverse professionals.
ABOUT YOU –
1. You have a tertiary qualification in actuarial sciences, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, econometrics or related disciplines.
2. You’ll have a good understanding of data modelling techniques, statistical methods, tools/languages such as R, SAS, SQL, ArcGIS.
3. Hands on data management and analytics experience is preferable, ideally gained from general insurance or financial services sector.
4. You can work autonomously in a solution orientated and delivery focused manner.
5. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary fast-paced team.
6. Existing knowledge of some of the following will be looked upon favourably:
7. - Global Cat modelling software such as AIR, RMS, Imagery analytics/ computer vision.
8. You’ll develop, implement, and maintain analytical tools to provide insights on natural perils risk, pricing, profitability and affordability.
9. You will build analytical application designs and prototyping to test ideas and drive innovation on perils risk and climate risk solutions.
10. You’ll conduct exploratory data analysis, methodological research and experiments to contribute to innovative analytics solutions.
11. You will maintain natural perils cost allocations and pricing processes, and managing internal stakeholders across the business.
12. Provide analytical support to the Pricing & Engineering team on perils including earthquake, flood, bushfire, cyclone, storm and hail.
13. You’ll assist in the delivery of peril risk models for both reinsurance and risk-based pricing applications.
