About the roleWe are searching for dedicated and passionate people to join our Townsville Home Care team as Home Care Workers. A Home Care Worker is responsible for providing our home care clients with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to live in their chosen community.In this varied role you will:Provide personal care assistance to clients, for example showering, dressing and continence care;Early morning starts and weekend availability.Help clients with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation and other light housework;Assisting clients by transporting them to appointments and undertaking personal shopping;Assisting with and medication competent.Support in the development of a consumer driven care plan;About youYou are someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of seniors as you are a caring and empathetic person. Your ability to build relationships will build trust with the clients and ensure that they are feeling supported and cared for.You will need:A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent;Completion of the following unit of competency: HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication - or ability to acquire;Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates;A current driver's licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes (km's paid);Physical capacity to carry out the duties required, including house & manual work;National Police Certificate or the ability to acquire.
