Company Overview: Vertical Transport Solutions Pty Ltd (VTS) is a leading provider of escalator and elevator installations, servicing, and modifications. We also specialize in security systems, home automation, and CCTV. Due to our growth, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team for an immediate start. This role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to work on a wide range of electrical systems and installations.
Key Responsibilities: As an Electrical Engineering Technician with Vertical Transport Solutions, you will be responsible for:
1. Electrical System Installations and Maintenance: Installing, testing, and calibrating electrical systems for elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
2. Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Analyzing wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to plan sequences and methods for electrical installations.
3. Control Systems Integration: Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems, to ensure safe operation of equipment.
4. Routine Inspections and Preventative Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and implementing preventative maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.
5. Quality Control and Testing: Using electrical and electronic testing equipment to ensure all systems operate efficiently and to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
6. Repair and Replacement: Diagnosing and replacing faulty wiring, electrical components, sensors, and other defective parts to maintain safe and reliable operation of elevator and escalator systems.
7. System Upgrades and Modifications: Assessing and implementing system upgrades or modifications to enhance the efficiency, safety, and functionality of electrical and mechanical systems.
8. Energy Efficiency and Optimization: Identifying opportunities for energy-saving improvements within electrical systems, aligning with best practices in sustainable engineering.
9. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting installation and repair work, ensuring quality feedback and progress reports are provided to supervisors.
10. Safety and Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and standards throughout all installations and maintenance procedures.
11. On-Site Client Communication: Coordinating with client representatives to ensure smooth installation and service activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification: Qualifications related to Electrotechnology, Mechanical Engineering Technician or related field.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in electrical installations and maintenance, ideally with elevators, escalators, or related equipment.
3. Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic testing instruments, diagnostic tools, and familiarity with PLCs and automation systems.
4. Additional Requirements: White Card, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
