Orange Door Team Leader - Western Melbourne

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Orange Door, the state's specialist family violence service, as a Senior Practitioner.
The Orange Door provides a critical first response to individuals seeking assistance with family violence and child well-being concerns. While our primary focus is on those using violence, Team Leaders are also expected to lead an integrated team, assisting victims/survivors and children as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work as a member of the Orange Door Leadership Team.
* Lead an Integrated Team of practitioners.
* Mentor and support new staff members within the Orange Door.
* Support staff to provide short-term support to individuals impacted by family violence, including advice and referrals.
* Support staff to focus on risk management, safety planning, and appropriate referrals.
* Support staff to conduct child well-being checks and complete child well-being assessments.
* Support staff to perform risk assessments on individuals using violence.
* Support staff to complete MARAM (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management) with victim survivors.
* Support staff to adhere to documentation and record-keeping requirements.
The Orange Door:
The Orange Door aims to support individuals and families experiencing family violence by offering a central access point to services tailored to their unique needs. Our primary goal is to reduce the risk of harm associated with controlling, violent, and abusive behavior through comprehensive risk assessment and management strategies.
We achieve this by:
* Providing a visible contact point for individuals seeking specialist support.
* Assisting people in identifying family violence and child well-being issues.
* Offering advice based on contemporary risk assessment tools and guidance.
* Providing specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families, children, and individuals using violence.
* Coordinating access to support services.
* Maintaining a system-wide view of service capacity, client experience, and outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* The successful candidate must demonstrate that they meet the mandatory minimum qualification requirements to work in specialist family violence roles, as outlined under Recommendation 209. * Demonstrated experience working with children, families, and family violence cases involving complex needs and risk issues.
* Resilience in working with and supporting clients who have been exposed to trauma.
* Proven ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and needs of clients using a whole-family approach.

Explain your ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. How do you manage personal values, biases, and engage in reflective practice while working with individuals who use violence.
