Offering impressive beaches and coastal walks coupled with boutique restaurants, transport links and a vibrant nightlife, you’ll never be short of things to do in this progressive community.The RoleThe position sits within the social work acute services team and will provide a social work service to patients and their carers in the emergency department and intensive care units. This role will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality social work service not only within the assigned clinical areas but also to provide support and cover in other clinical areas across the Acute Services team as required. This position is also responsible for the domestic violence and child protection port folios within the Social Work Department and will be responsible for the Coordination of the On Call service, and preparation of reports and rosters as required. The successful applicant will have excellent communication and time management skills with relevant experience, and knowledge being desirable but not necessary with training and support available. As an acute services social worker you will complete psychosocial assessments, provide counselling around adjustment to illness, crisis and bereavement support, crisis intervention, referral to community services and discharge planning.Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within a social work specialty area in order to provide high quality counselling, advocacy and therapeutic care to the patients, their carers and families of the facility consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.Benefits Up to 12 allocated days off each year (for full-time employees) in addition to annual leave.
