Granville East Public School, enrolment 270 students, 96% speak English as an additional language/dialect, is a vibrant community school in Western Sydney which proudly thrives on Dharug Land. A strong culture of explicit teaching, student inquiry and positive behaviours for learning support the educational, social and emotional wellbeing of our community. Staff work collaboratively in small teaching teams and leaders are responsible for curriculum and wellbeing outcomes. We are a well-resourced school with both traditional and alternative learning spaces including an outdoor learning space, vegetable garden and yarning circle. At GEPS, everyone from the youngest student to the principal is a learner.
Our school library is centrally located, representing the hub of the school. The teacher librarian will work 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday) ensuring that all students, families and staff have access to quality literature, quality resources and strong digital literacy skills. This position has been vacant for over a year and admin staff have ensured the library is open and of service to all. A strong network of admin staff and executive leadership has been established to support the new teacher librarian.
