About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer – Tunnels to join our Alkimos Desalinisation Project in Perth. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will work with the tunnel team to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work.
The Project
The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project aims to deliver Western Australia's next major water source: a new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. The completed stage 1 will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean drinking water to millions of Western Australians annually. This project encompasses design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant, with first production expected in 2028. Key components include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical, and bulk earthworks.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Planning of tunnelling activities
* Providing technical support and planning for workforce, supervisors, and sub-contractors as directed by the Tunnel Senior Project Engineer
* Managing temporary works
* Assisting the tunnel Foreman with planning and QA
* Ensuring effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and other project participants
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A degree in Engineering, Civil or Mining
* Previous experience in constructing underground structures using TBM's
* Demonstrated strong technical knowledge and on-site management of various tunnel-related construction processes, including slurry TBM's
