Responsibilities
As the Senior Residential Engineer, you will lead the structural design and analysis of residential projects, with a focus on timber frames. You will play a crucial role in project management and client engagement, ensuring high-quality delivery. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently when required.
* Timber Frame Design: Lead the structural design of residential buildings, specialising in timber frames, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and Building Codes.
* Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Project Oversight: Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables for residential projects, ensuring successful completion.
* Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and maintaining strong relationships.
* Independent Work: Confidently manage projects and deliverables, with the ability to work autonomously when necessary.
* Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all designs meet local building regulations and standards while maintaining accurate project documentation.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience as a Structural or Residential Engineer, with extensive experience in timber frame design for residential projects.
* In-depth knowledge of Australian building standards and codes for residential construction.
* Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or the ability to obtain this status within 12 months.
* Proven ability to work independently and confidently manage complex residential projects.
* Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical details effectively.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant structural design software.
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with advanced degrees or certifications being highly desirable.
* Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
