ABOUT THE ROLE As the Nurse Unit Manager for Instrument/Circulating, you will play a vital role by providing day-to-day operational leadership for perioperative services, ensuring the area is managed efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the delivery of safe, high-quality care that aligns with current best practices; Assisting the Interventional Suite Manager in leading and guiding perioperative services; Managing human, financial, and material resources efficiently; Undertaking a hands-on role as needed; Understanding legislative requirements, ACORN guidelines, and sterilisation standards; Being knowledgeable about accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management; Collaborating closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure high standards of care, enhancing service; efficiency, and fostering strong professional relationships. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS An experienced manager with a passion for developing talent within the team, you will also possess the following skills and attributes: Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA; Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent; Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing; Postgraduate qualification in leadership or management (or willing to work towards); At least 5 years of experience in Perioperative Services, particularly in operating theatres; Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres conducting complex surgical procedures; Experience managing a perioperative specialty or department; Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach; Passion for building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service; Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and achieving targets and KPIs; Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering, and working within budgeted hours; High level of planning and organisational skills; Effective change management and project management skills; Strong influencing skills with the ability to adapt personal style to various audiences and interpersonal styles; Well-developed oral and written communication skills; A high degree of computer literacy; Prior experience in the private healthcare system is highly regarded.
