ROLE Are you ready to lead a brand-new complementary medicines manufacturing facility? We're seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of a state-of-the-art facility specializing in tablets, capsules, powders, and liquid compounding. Reporting to the Executive and with two initial direct reports (Production Manager and Head of Quality), this is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to spearhead the commercial and operational success of a new business, with strong support from an experienced and growth-oriented executive team.
Your leadership will drive excellence across production, quality, maintenance, sales, procurement, and facility management, all while ensuring compliance with PIC/S and TGA regulatory standards.
A Summary of the Key Responsibilities Include: Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to set and execute strategic goals. Lead site management across production, quality assurance, maintenance, and sales functions. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and reports in partnership with the Group Finance Team. Ensure high-quality, efficacious products with a focus on WHS, DIFOT, and minimum profit margin targets. Oversee the development and launch of new complementary medicine products. Recruit, train, and develop staff to build a high-performing, engaged workforce. Ensure the facility maintains compliance with PIC/S, TGA, and cGMP regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of operational excellence and customer service that delivers above-industry-standard outcomes. REQUIREMENTS Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related field. Proven leadership experience within the pharmaceutical sector, ideally in the manufacturing of complementary medicines. A minimum of 10 years in management roles, overseeing production, quality, and validation teams. Strong understanding of cGMP, PIC/S, and regulatory requirements for therapeutic and non-therapeutic products. Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities in time-sensitive environments. Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence. Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive business growth and align with organizational goals. Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and cost optimization to achieve profitability targets. A deep understanding of market trends and customer needs within the complementary medicines or healthcare sector and experience scaling operations and driving revenue highly regarded.
