The Opportunity
A major hydro turbine refurbishment project is underway, spanning the next five years with additional expansions to follow. This role presents a unique opportunity to establish and lead a Quality function from the ground up, ensuring world-class standards for one of Australia's most significant renewable energy initiatives.
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for implementing a quality system and processes, working closely with in-house engineering teams and international suppliers. You’ll oversee equipment procurement, installation, and full outage management, ensuring minimal impact on power production.
About You
We’re looking for a seasoned Quality Manager with:
* Extensive experience in hydro power generation or large-scale EPC projects
* Proficiency in Mandarin – essential for liaising with teams in China
* Strong leadership skills to build and run a new Quality Department
* The ability to manage multi-national teams and diverse stakeholders
* A hands-on, adaptable approach with a solution-focused mindset
* Willingness to travel extensively to China in the early stages (2-3 months)
