Salvos Stores is looking for a number of suitably qualified individuals for the position of Full-Time Permanent Driver working out of Rockhampton.
Reporting directly to the Transport Supervisor, you will ensure the timely and accurate collection of goods from donor properties, clothing banks, and stores, which requires you to deal directly with the public and evaluate and decline items that are not in a resalable condition.
About The Role
Working independently, you will have excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills to assist you with:
* Loading/unloading – loose goods including furniture items;
* Performing laboring tasks. Together with a jockey, you will lift and carry reasonable weights;
* Distribution of goods to stores and assisting retail staff where required;
* Ensuring a professional customer relations experience for our customers;
* Using an electronic device to complete delivery paperwork;
* Maintaining safe WHS methods and driving practices;
* Completing pre-start checks, reporting incidents, near misses, and vehicle maintenance issues;
* Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle provided.
About You
Previous experience in multi-drop, courier, or furniture removal, while highly regarded, is not essential.
What is essential is an MR license, good time management, reliability, and a can-do attitude.
You will be a well-presented, high-energy, hands-on individual and will bring your proven track record in providing extraordinary customer service to the role. You will have experience in the safe preparation, loading, and unloading of goods.
Applicants must be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate:
* Minimum 1 year of driving experience operating medium rigid vehicles;
* Current Australian driver's license / Medium Rigid license (or above); Manual driving license preferred;
* Confident driving skills and a proven safety record; Multi-drop, courier, and/or furniture removal experience is an advantage;
* Reasonable written and oral communication skills; Organisational and problem-solving skills;
* Right to work in Australia.
