Apprenticeships R Us is looking for a 1st-year Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join the Automotive Industry in the Albury, NSW area!
Our mechanic roles are entry-level and do not require experience. If you do have experience, PERFECT! We have opportunities for experienced apprentices looking to continue in workshops that can give them more challenges or a change in scenery.
What is an automotive apprenticeship? An automotive apprenticeship is a structured training program that allows individuals to gain practical experience and knowledge in the automotive industry. It combines on-the-job training with classroom-based learning to ensure that apprentices receive a well-rounded education and a comprehensive understanding of the trade.
What is a Light Vehicle Mechanic?
Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanics service, repair and overhaul the mechanical parts of motor vehicles such as the engine, the transmission (clutch, gear box and differential), and the suspension systems (springs, steering, brakes, wheels, and tyres). As part of your Light Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship, you will learn to:
* Replace broken or defective vehicle parts.
* Test and replace starter motors and defective alternators.
* Replace and repair electrical wiring.
* Diagnose defective electrical parts.
* Remove and replace electronic components.
* Communicate with customers to explain problems/issues.
* Use special test equipment to diagnose and repair vehicles.
* Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments for smoother running.
* Carry out minor trim repairs.
* Diagnose, repair and replace engine management and fuel injection components.
