About theRole
The Transport Planning Lead is responsible forproviding leadership to a dedicated team, in the planning anddevelopment of priority transport initiatives.
As a senior professionalspecialist, you will play a key role in the planning anddevelopment of priority transport initiatives, from conceptplanning through to strategic business case and achievement offunding commitments for their implementation.
The role will consult and engagewith a broad range of agency, state and national stakeholders,professional bodies, industry groups and the community groups.
Key Responsibilitiesinclude:
1. Mentoring, motivating, and managing a dedicated transport planning team and collaborating with clients and other key stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and goals.
2. Influencing major projects, programs, assets and systems from the conceptual planning stage through to strategic businesses cases and funding commitments.
3. Determining and formulating policies and practices that ultimately address highly complex issues and innovations.
4. Contributing to existing projects, while additionally seeking future opportunities through proactive planning.
Key Requirementsinclude:
5. A degree in Transport Planning, Engineering, or relevant field supported with extensive prior experience and discipline knowledge in transport planning.
6. High level interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise messaging such as reports, briefings, business cases and presentations.
7. Strong leadership skills and a commitment to building a supportive, high performing, collaborative and customer centric team culture.
