How will I help?
The Mortgage Line of Business (MLOB) Quality Engineering team provides all Quality functions for the LOB. This includes provision of test environment services i.e. planning, design, build and support of existing and new test environments that are required for functional and non-functional testing of the LOB’s initiatives. The test environment team is a small team within the MLOB Quality engineering team.
Your responsibilities will include:
o Liaise with MLOB & Unite Test Teams, Solution designers & Architects to understand environment needs & issues
o Participate in daily standups, team meetings as required
o Develop environment plans, proposals, cost spreadsheets and other artifacts to obtain management and project approvals
o Coordinate test environment design, build & shakedown tests as required for Unite program
o Gain technical expertise across platforms for Mainframe (DB2; IMS, CICS,z/OS) Oracle; Unix & Distributed Systems, AWS, Azure & other Cloud environments, Integration platforms to enable impact analysis of various initiatives
o Gain an understanding of test data across various technology platforms in the Bank
o Contribute to Quality engineering improvement initiatives, focusing on Automation of processes/tasks
o Analyse & report critical issues / risks to the Service Engineering Manager in a timely manner
o Assist other Test environment colleagues with technical support and improvement processes
What do I need?
We are seeking an experienced IT Test Environment Engineer with expertise in environment management and configuration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with a relevant degree in engineering or IT. Desirable qualifications include experience with virtualisation and cloud technologies, proficiency in scripting and automation tools, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
