Key Account Manager (Business Development)As a long-established provider of Plant and Equipment, Porter Plant has specialised in dry hiring plant and equipment throughout Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland for more than 30 years.Our customers operate within the civil construction, road construction and maintenance, utilities, renewables, and various government sectors. Strong growth within Porter Plant has required us to restructure our Sales Department, adding a dedicated, energetic, customer-focused, and experienced Key Account Manager.The RoleReporting to the General Manager Sales and Business Development, you will be responsible for managing assigned customers from the boardroom to those in the field through relationship management and the identification of current and future opportunities. Your role ultimately has 3 major elements:Developing and maintaining deep relationships through delivering a quality experience and superior service.Contract and Account Management ensuring KPI’s are achieved.Identification of both long- and short-term dry hire opportunities resulting in sustained revenue growth.Skills and Experience RequiredA true sales professional with a demonstrated background in establishing and maintaining customer relationships within the civil construction, road construction & maintenance, utilities, renewables, and various government sectors.A proven track record of interpreting, managing, and executing the deliverables of plant hire agreements.3+ years of account management and business development experience in the plant/equipment hire or related fields.Ability to negotiate with all stakeholders within the customer account.Ability to negotiate and price new hire opportunities and tenders.Experience in CRM usage and understanding of its benefits.Organised, systematic, and planned approach to managing a customer base.A high level of professionalism, energy, and attention to detail.Exceptional communication and investigative skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.A good listener who observes, engages, and presents solutions.Demonstrated customer service traits for both internal and external customers.Acts with a sense of urgency.What's in it for you?Fully Maintained Company VehicleA distinct career development opportunity exists as the company continues to grow.
