A prominent secondary school in Glen Waverley is seeking a passionate and dynamic Health and Physical Education Teacher for a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 1. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing comprehensive health and physical education programs for secondary students. Key responsibilities include creating engaging lesson plans that promote physical fitness, health literacy, and overall well-being, while catering to diverse student needs and abilities. The teacher will also organize and supervise sports events, extracurricular activities, and school health initiatives. Collaboration with staff, students, and the wider school community to foster a positive and inclusive environment is essential. The ideal candidate will hold relevant teaching qualifications, have a strong background in physical education, and demonstrate a commitment to encouraging healthy lifestyles. Key Duties
* Plan and deliver engaging health and physical education lessons aligned with Victorian Curriculum standards.
* Teach fundamental movement skills, sports techniques, and health education topics.
* Assess student progress through various methods and provide constructive feedback.
* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and promote inclusivity.
* Manage behaviour to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to support student development and well-being.
Skills & Experience:
* Completed relevant Qualifications in Education.
* Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration.
* Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
* Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Health and PE - Graduates are welcome to apply too.
* Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
