The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team at Sugar Australia's Mackay, QLD refinery site in a permanent full-time capacity.

Reporting to the Technical and Process Improvement Manager, this role plays a crucial part in administering Operational Technology (OT) systems, ensuring process stability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the refinery.
* Administer and maintain refinery OT systems including DCS, PLC, SCADA, Network, and data historian systems for process stability and data integrity.
* Collaborate with site teams on continuous improvement projects, providing programming and data fault-finding support.
* Support Operations and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolving critical factory interruptions to maintain high factory availability.
* Identify and implement upgrades in OT hardware and software to support refinery operations.
* Support process control specifications for capital projects, assisting in accurate costing and scope definition.
* Develop and implement minor capital improvement projects to reduce melt losses, enhance safety, and improve reliability in the refinery.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering desirable.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in process control, preferably in continuous processes or the food industry.
* Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in process control and instrumentation systems.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills, with a focus on teamwork.
* Experience in managing and executing capital projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
* Proficiency in process control systems, SCADA, and data analysis.
* A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
