The focus of the role is to collaborate with the Anaesthetist and other members of the perioperative team to provide safe, high quality care to patients/clients following elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.Works as part of a dynamic and innovative team.Has access to quality professional development opportunities.You will need: Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care within the perioperative anaesthesia field and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse and ACORN Standards for Perioperative Nursing.Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills, and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice within a perioperative practice setting.Ability to undertake client education in the practice setting, together with a commitment to participate in ongoing professional development.The ability to work with and manage highly technical anaesthetic and medical equipment and technology.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team: The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit team provides safe, high quality care to patients/clients following elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability, providing acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services for the Tasmania Health Service Hospitals South (THS Hospitals South) and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from THS Hospitals North and THS Hospitals Northwest. The RHH provides elective and emergency surgical services for the THS Hospitals South.Details of appointment: Multiple permanent, full time or part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum (Pro rata).
