About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position at a large tertiary referral hospital on the north-eastern coast of Queensland. The hospital serves as the main referral hub for the region, providing a wide range of medical services to a population of approximately 250,000 people.
Hospital services include mental health, cardiac, obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric, neurosurgical, orthopaedic, cancer, neonatal, allied health, anaesthetic and intensive care services. The hospital is also involved in trial and research activities and has strong ties with James Cook University's schools of medicine.
Job Responsibilities
* Providing specialist clinical psychiatry services and support to Intellectual and Developmental Disability mental health teams working across inpatient and community settings.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams comprised of allied health, nursing, general medicine and mental health medical staff to meet the unique needs of individuals living with intellectual and/or neurodevelopmental disability.
* Supporting families and carers in the ongoing management of individuals with these conditions.
