The Financial Advisor role undertakes key first line of defence activities in relation to branch financial risk areas. In this fast-paced role, some of your accountabilities will include:
• Provide expertise and advice to Operations Unit management and staff in relation to the application of departmental financial management practices and processes.
• Lead the development of the Operations Unit capital and operating budget and coordination of end of month financial reporting including oversight and approval of all accrual adjustments, variance analysis and end of year forecasts.
• Provision of first line of defence activities, including Expense Management System reviews, SAP Ariba exceptions, general ledger reviews, asset management including stocktake and minor equipment management, AR/AP management, monitoring of Billview (mobile, voice and data services), and customer/vendor master data changes.
• Responsible for creation and closing of all projects for the Operations Unit in SAP.
• In consultation with management, review and amend resource rates to ensure full cost recovery of labour and plant resources.
• In consultation with management, recruit, select and onboard project costing resources in departmental and RoadTek financial and payroll processes.
• Provide direct supervision of project costing staff and monitoring of their performance against their employee performance development agreements.
To be successful you will need:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar advisor position.
• Excellent organisational skills and thrive working independently in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to rapidly develop and maintain relationships through collaboration with your clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
• The ability to work under pressure in an environment of competing priorities and deadlines.
• While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business administration will be highly regarded.
