School of Dentistry Two part-time (one at 80% and one at 20%) permanent positions at Level A or Level B (Clinical Academic) Full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,448 - $107,104 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) or $112,572 - $133,381 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B) Based at our Herston campus About This Opportunity An exciting opportunity for two part-time Clinical Associate Lecturers or Clinical Lecturers to focus their efforts on developing their expertise in clinical teaching, clinical research, and service and engagement. At this level, you will be supported and guided by more senior academic staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time. The successful candidates will be appointed as a Clinical Associate Lecturer (Level A) or a Clinical Lecturer (Level B) commensurate with their experience. Key responsibilities will include (with varying degrees of responsibility across Level A and Level B): Teaching: Develop an emerging teaching profile, assist with course material development, collaborate on curriculum design, undertake clinical teaching, maintain and enhance quality of courses, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Publish in reputable journals, participate in competitive research funding applications, collaborate on joint research projects, contribute to transfer of knowledge, develop a research program and emerging research profile, and utilise best practice research methodologies. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students as appropriate, provide performance feedback and training, manage research staff as required, and resolve conflicts and grievances when they arise. Citizenship and Service: Uphold UQ values, engage in internal service roles, provide support to colleagues during absences of team members, begin to develop external links and partnerships. About You As a Clinical Associate Lecturer (Level A): Completion or near completion of an advanced professional qualification or Higher Degree by Research in the discipline area. An emerging profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research in the discipline area. Industry knowledge and experience in a general or specialist capacity. Evidence of quality clinical teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate (as appropriate) and/or professional entry level and collaboration in course coordination. Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and strong contributions towards external activities that foster links within the profession within the relevant specialty. As a Clinical Lecturer (Level B): Completion of an advanced professional qualification or Higher Degree by Research in the discipline area. A growing profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research in the discipline area. Industry knowledge and experience in a general or specialist capacity, including evidence of supporting the implementation of new and innovative clinical techniques. A record of peer reviewed publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. Evidence of a high level of quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate and/or professional entry level. Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area. Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with significant contributions to external activities that foster links within the profession within the relevant specialty.
