Charles Sturt University maintains a register of people available for casual work, which enables managers across the University to search for people with the skills and experience required for a particular task.
The Professional/Specialist register covers roles engaged in the provision of professional/specialist support to University staff and students, and sometimes to the wider public. The work might involve development and implementation of policies and programs, the provision of professional and specialist technical advice or delivery of professional support services.
Generally, the following fields would exist in this register:
* Educational designers
* Information technology
* Project management
* Business/systems analyst
* Business intelligence
* Dentistry
* Marketing, web and social media
Broad role-specific capabilities include:
* Expertise in a specialist/professional field
* Project management
* Formulating and implementing strategies and concepts
* Analysing data and information and making sound decisions based on the available information
* Utilising technology
Applicants will be matched with positions that align with their qualifications, skills and capabilities. Applications will be reviewed by our hiring managers and you may be contacted to discuss your application or be invited to participate in other assessments associated with the recruitment process ie interview, functional assessment etc.
Registering with Charles Sturt on the casual register does not guarantee employment and if you wish to be considered for a specific vacancy we encourage you to apply directly for that position via the jobs web page and address the selection criteria in the application form for that vacancy.
In the current environment we anticipate fewer casual opportunities will become available. Hiring Managers may have some casual opportunities arise and if you are interested, we encourage you to submit your application if you’re available.
This register will expire every 6 months, and you will be required to apply again after the closing date if you are still interested in being considered for casual work at Charles Sturt.
