About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Surgery – Ophthalmology team as an Orthoptist, where you will be responsible for:
5. providing high-quality ophthalmic care at the Women and Children’s Health Network.
6. Investigating and manage paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility conditions.
7. Contributing to the effective and efficient operation of Ophthalmology outpatient clinics.
8. Participating in community outreach clinics to expand access to specialist screening services within metropolitan Adelaide, as required by the department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
9. Appropriate degree or Master’s Degree qualification in Orthoptics which entitles registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB). Eligible for membership of Orthoptics Australia (OA)
10. 2 years of paediatric ophthalmology experience post-qualification.
11. Experience in the field of paediatric orthoptics; strabismus, amblyopia, ocular motility, refractive error and assessment of children with visual impairments.
12. Experience with a range of orthoptic assessment procedures.
13. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers and staff at all levels.
14. High level of written and oral communication skills
15. Ability to analyse and interpret clinical data.
