About The RoleWe at InfraBuild would like to invite recent graduates to take part in our 2025 Graduate Program as a Graduate Lab Technician.Reporting to the Quality Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for the sampling and testing to maintain the site's Quality, Process and Environmental controls.
The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and will provide cross-functional support to the Rod, Wie and Bar Mill in Newcastle.Real Work with Real Outcomes – Our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement.
This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work.To Do This You WillCollect Daily plant process solution samplesConduct testing, investigations and activities in accordance with standard test methodsMaintain laboratory instruments and equipmentPlay an active role in research and development projects as necessaryDevelop knowledge and understanding of ISO17025 & NATA guidelinesTake a proactive approach to learning and assist with the development of new methods and techniquesMaintain and update databases and perform administrative activitiesYou Will Also HaveA Tertiary degree or Diploma qualification in ChemistryHighly developed computer skills and the ability to solve complex problemsAbility to operate instrumentation which would be encountered in the Chemical LaboratoryKnowledge of sampling and sample preparation techniquesStrong investigative and analytical skillsHave the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team-oriented environment at all levels of the organisationAny additional laboratory certificates and water analysis testing will be highly regardedAbout UsInfraBuild is Australia's leading integrated steel manufacturing, distribution and recycling business, making steel using our electric arc furnaces.
