We are seeking a Water Strategy & Planning Engineer to join our Water Practice in South East Queensland. You will play an integral part in a high-performing team of skilled water specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for a diverse range of internal and external clients, including within the public and private sector. In joining our market-leading team, you will contribute to the delivery of our growing portfolio of water strategy and system planning projects across Queensland and the broader ANZ region.
Through a deep understanding of their challenges we work with our clients to co-create innovate solutions that help to shape tomorrow's world. It’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart.
Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
1. Support the development of innovative water strategies and plans, which may include adaptive planning, integrated water management, protecting waterway health, circular economy and water sensitive cities.
2. Deliver integrated water servicing strategies and plans for new development precincts and existing infill areas.
3. Deliver valued water, wastewater and recycled water system planning solutions in response to key drivers including growth servicing, asset renewals, asset reliability, system resilience, sustainability and liveability.
4. Consider and assess whole-of-lifecycle costs and associated risks and benefits in system plans.
5. Maintain and further develop relationships with a wide range of clients and critical internal and external stakeholders, with a strong focus on collaborative working and integrated team’s in partnership.
6. Confident and proactive in project management and delivery – contributing to technical excellence as part of a high performing, engaged and supportive team.
7. Contribute to business development including connecting with clients, identifying opportunities and supporting pursuits.
8. Actively participate in delivering the Aurecon Blueprint and our Water Strategy.
9. Support junior members of the water team in the development of their networks and system planning skills.

10. An aptitude for strategic thinking and solving complex challenges
11. Demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater systems planning
12. Demonstrated initiative and diligence in working to solve challenges and promote new ideas
13. A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic, diverse and high-performing team environment
14. A passion for achieving excellence in the water industry and as a team player
15. Excellent oral and written communication skills
You will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need a relevant technical qualification and chartered status would be preferable.
