The College has a permanent full-time position for a Janitor to work with the Facilities team. Duties will include ensuring that the grounds and buildings are kept clean and tidy, assisting with deliveries and storage, and assisting with setup and pack down for College events. Hours are 7:30am to 3:36pm Monday to Friday.
This position will be available for immediate commencement or as negotiated.
Key Responsibilities
The Janitor is responsible to the College Headmaster through the Director of Business Services and Facilities Manager to carry out their duties on a day to day basis as requested by the Facilities Manager:
* Ensure College grounds and buildings are kept clean and tidy, collecting and clearing rubbish and bins daily.
* Collect Mail from Mawson Post office each morning.
* Cleaning duties as requested.
* Assist with deliveries and storage as directed.
* Assist at College events, including venue set-up and pack-downs.
* Provide Security detail on occasion.
* Perform non-specialised repair work.
* Assist staff as directed.
* Other duties as requested.

* Understanding of safety and security issues in a school.
* Flexibility in their approach to planning the working day and respond to change.
* Proactive work ethic, reliable with a positive common-sense approach.
* Ability to undertake instruction and complete tasks independently and precisely.
* Physical ability to carry out the inherent duties associated with the role.
* Sound ICT skills in the use of email and the College ticketing system.
* High School Certificate or equivalent would be well regarded.
The Janitor must meet all legislative and professional requirements including holding ACT Working with Vulnerable People Registration. The Janitor will be required to read and comply with College Policies including the College Code of Professional Conduct, Child Safeguarding, and the Workplace Health and Safety Program.
