School health nurses working for the Department for Education, Children and Young People play a vital role in supporting students’ educational development, health, and wellbeing.
About the role
You will work collaboratively to create a physical and social environment that promotes the good health and wellbeing of students and families. You will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion activities in collaboration with key stakeholders. You will provide clinical assessment, screening and support to individual students and groups, and facilitate supported referrals for students.
Period of Appointment: 18 September 2023 – 3 January 2025
Hours per fortnight: 30.4 hours
Salary Range: $90,293.00 to $96,428.00 (per annum, pro rata) +11% superannuation
Starting salary may be negotiated commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Essential Requirements
13. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Desirable Requirements
14. Current drivers licence.
15. Relevant post-graduate health qualification or other post graduate Paediatric qualification.
