Career Opportunities: Area Training Officer (RFSO2)
The Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) Districts focus on supporting operational and organisational functions in the management of rural fires, enabling staff and volunteers to concentrate on task execution and response.
Each District encompasses operational and non-operational staff, RFSQ volunteers, and rural fire brigades providing fire management, mitigation, and response services for rural communities.
The Area Training Officer role coordinates training for volunteers and brigades, ensuring compliance with Registered Training Organisation requirements.
This role supports training activities across the District, focusing on a specific Area within the District.
The officer works closely with volunteers and other stakeholders, reporting to the Manager Operational Training.
Key Duties:
* Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate formal and informal training for volunteers.
* Conduct training needs assessments for volunteers and provide input into the annual training plan.
* Onboard new brigade volunteers and contribute to training compliance and quality assurance.
* Attend brigade meetings to provide updates and develop strategies to address gaps or issues.
* Participate in forums and working groups to support rural fire service training knowledge and capabilities.
Requirements:
* Mandatory attributes as outlined in the generic RFSO2 role description.
* Knowledge of volunteer management or experience working with volunteers.
* Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education.
