We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to lead our kitchen operations.
Role Overview:
We need a chef with a deep appreciation for Indian cuisine and a flair for integrating modern culinary methods.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop innovative menus that honor traditional Indian flavors while incorporating contemporary techniques.
* Estimate food and labor costs to ensure profitability without compromising on quality.
* Order and manage food supplies, emphasizing the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
* Monitor the quality of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain our high standards.
* Work closely with management, dietitians, and both kitchen and waiting staff to ensure seamless operations.
* Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on procedures to kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
* Actively engage in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence.
* Enforce strict hygiene and food safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean kitchen environment.
* Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
* Implement methods for freezing and preserving foods as necessary to maintain quality and reduce waste.
Qualifications and Experience:
Educational Background: A Certificate IV, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Cookery or a relevant field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years in a chef role, preferably with experience in Indian cuisine.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse kitchen team.
