What you'll do We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team. This role will play a vital role in designing and implementing robust data infrastructure, self-service capabilities, and ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of data throughout our organisation. Responsibilities will include: Oversee the data engineering function within Cartology across ETL, data integration, data services, data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting and self-service data models. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and act as a technical leader driving best practices and a business domain expert in retail media to foster a high performing environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to deeply understand problems, collaborate on solutions and drive outcomes with our data assets. Participate in the cross-domain architecture forum to align data solutions with other systems and domains. Design and develop scalable, reliable, and efficient data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data models, storage systems, and ETL processes. Ensure innovation, continuous improvement, maintainability, supportability and performance of the data platform. Raise the data literacy across the stakeholder groups and ensure that people feel empowered to leverage data as a strategic tool for their function. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in data engineering practices. What you'll bring Demonstrated Data Engineering team leadership experience Expert in SQL, database design, development, modelling and optimisation in BigQuery. Strong knowledge of automating data pipelines and transformations in GCP. Extensive experience with BI workloads, dashboarding, reporting and self-service semantic layer data modelling. Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Microstrategy, Looker, etc) and Transformation Tools (DBT, Dataform, etc). Experience with data ingestion and/or data integration tools (Fivetran, Matillion, Striim, Data Fusion etc) Knowledge of data integration patterns within GCP. Experience with data testing, data governance best practices and data security fundamentals. Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Relational/Dimensional data modelling, DW design, ETL solutions development, Data Visualization/MIS reports in full cycle development projects. Demonstrated experience leveraging Github or similar and CI/CD pipelines.
