The Role
Mobile Sales and Service Technicians are responsible for assembling, supplying, and installing material transfer hoses and tubes, as well as supplying associated fittings and accessories for industrial applications. Mobile Sales and Service Technicians are responsible for providing our customers with a 24-hour a day on-site mobile service as required. In addition, this role is tasked with ensuring our customers are provided with efficient customer service by utilising your in-depth knowledge of Pirtek products and services and generating sales by striving to continually improve the customer experience.
Depending on the size of the Centre and customer requirements, Mobile Sales and Service Technicians may work as an individual or as part of a team of employees fulfilling this position.
Key Tasks, Actions, and Processes
Services Calls & Mobile Service Unit (MSU)
•Attending assigned service calls promptly, aiming to be onsite within 30 minutes or as agreed with your Manager upon receiving the work order
•Generating sales on service calls by upselling additional servicing, products, or revenue streams to customers
•Maintaining and operating the Mobile Service Unit (MSU) to the highest standards, ensuring all equipment is serviced, calibrated, and in good working order, especially during fieldwork
•Maintaining the MSU to ensure it is clean, tidy, and well-stocked
•Completing all logs regularly to ensure they are up-to-date
Technical
•Assembling, supplying, and installing material transfer hoses and tubes per customer requests, utilising the most suitable equipment, products, and methods for efficient and high-quality work that meets customer expectations
•Seeking advice and support from your Manager in order to clarify any questions you may have
•Utilising pMOBILE for creating and updating all work orders to maximise efficiency and accuracy
Customer Service & Sales
•Communicating effectively with customers and stakeholders to provide comprehensive information on Pirtek services and capabilities
•Maintaining thorough customer records, including orders, quotes, and relevant dates
•Providing input to the Centre Manager to assist with the setting of sales objectives and targets for designated territories
Other
•Attending regular and ad-hoc meetings as required
•Attending and participate in all company training
•Displaying an ongoing commitment to the 8 Pirtek Promises in all interactions with colleagues, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders (Environment & Safety, Respect, Honest & Integrity, Accessibility & Response, Customer Service, Products, Knowledge, and Image & Representation)

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essentials
•Previous experience in fitting, mechanical, hydraulics or relevant area
•Hold a current manual Driver’s Licence and willing to obtain a Light or Medium rigid licence
•Experience in operating plant machinery and using tools and measuring devices
•Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
•Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service
•Ability to anticipate problems and proactively find solutions
•Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise
•Reliable and punctual
•Have a strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work
•Neat and tidy presentation
•Ability to display confidence in representing Pirtek

Desirables
•Previous experience or knowledge of the hydraulic hose industry
•Previous experience or knowledge of the products used within this position
•A trade certificate, preferably a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or related qualification)
Competency Requirements
New and existing employees who have not previously completed a Pirtek RTO qualification (either Hose Assembly & Installation – Short Course or Certificate II / III in Engineering) will be required to undertake, at a minimum:
•Pirtek RTO’s Hose Assembly & Installation – Short Course or Pirtek RTO’s AURTTA012 Fabricate and Install Fluid Power Hose Assemblies
A 6-month grace period will be granted to allow existing MSST’s who do not hold the minimum competency requirements as outlined above to complete the required training.

Special Requirements
Availability and willingness to engage in the on-call schedule on a rotating basis, the frequency of which will be contingent on the rostered employee count and may vary periodically. While on-call, the Mobile Sales and Service Technician is expected to remain accessible to answer phone calls and respond to after-hours callouts from the conclusion of their workday until the commencement of the next business day throughout the entire on-call period.
