The Team:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is a tertiary level clinical mental health service, providing triage, assessment, treatment and support to young people aged 0-18 and their families statewide. The multidisciplinary team works across several sites and provides a therapeutic service for both inpatients and outpatients across Tasmania.
The Role:
As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the successful applicant will:
Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management, individual therapies and groups, including specialised therapies for consumers and their families or carers. Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of consumers with mental health needs. Provide interventions for consumers with major and complex mental health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs within a multidisciplinary team. You will need: Demonstrated capacity to effectively undertake a coordination/leadership role within a multidisciplinary community setting, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and a capacity to contribute towards the introduction of the model of care within a community setting. Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary community mental health team with the ability to assist the Team Leader in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources. Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant burse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
