Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) requires multiple APS 6 equivalent ICT Infrastructure Specialists to fill positions across the organisation. A merit pool will be created for future positions that may arise.
Suitable candidates will be required to complete ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA). This will be required either prior to commencing or within 12 months of commencement, as required by the assigned work area. ASD will allocate successful candidates to work areas based on operational needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and execute large roll outs of ICT infrastructure within controlled datacentres Accountable to contribute to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure problems Design and implement network/system changes and maintenance routines Investigate and resolve network problems Undertake datacentre and/or telecommunications hardware build, maintenance and management of the environments they are used in Install and configure network connected equipment and perform basic fault investigations as they arise. Technical Skills: Holds a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or similar field. Intermediate understanding of network fundamentals, such as protocols, architectures, devices, topologies and standards. Knowledge of differing optical fibre and optical link budgets. Basic knowledge and experience of network security. Practical knowledge of data transmission networks and experience with installations and upgrades. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED ITOP 4: Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures. Contributes to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates. Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines. Uses infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance statistics. Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure. Maintains operational procedures and checks that they are executed following agreed standards. Investigates and enables the resolution of operational issues. Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers. NTDS 4: Designs specific network components using agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodology. Translates logical designs into physical designs that meet specified operational parameters for capacity and performance. Reviews and verifies network designs against non-functional requirements, including validation and error correction procedures, access, security and audit controls. Contributes to the development of recovery routines and contingency procedures. Contributes to alternative network architectures, networking topologies and design options. HSIN 4: Undertakes or supervises complex installations and de-installations of systems or components, including handover to the client. Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service. Schedules installation work around client priorities and resource availability.
