Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of our dynamic and passionate team. In this role, you will work on the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components for our supercars. Your work will play a crucial role in improving the performance, handling, and durability of the vehicles, while also working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration into the overall car design.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and Development of mechanical systems and components for supercars, including chassis, suspension, drivetrain, and cooling systems.
* Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) to create detailed models, assemblies, and drawings of complex mechanical systems.
* Perform detailed engineering analysis (FEM, stress analysis, thermal simulations) to ensure designs meet performance and durability requirements.
* Collaborate with race engineers and aerodynamics experts to ensure mechanical designs align with vehicle dynamics and aerodynamic targets.
* Support the prototyping and testing phases, ensuring new designs are validated on the track and optimized for performance under racing conditions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during testing and racing events, providing real-time engineering support to the race team.
* Develop technical documentation and design reports, ensuring all designs meet internal standards and regulations.
* Ensure designs are manufacturable, working with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality production of parts.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on motorsport or automotive engineering.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools.
* Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, chassis design, and high-performance automotive components.
* Experience with FEM (Finite Element Method) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations.
* A deep passion for motorsport and an understanding of the technical challenges faced in high-performance racing environments.
* Ability to work well under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and be part of a team that thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in supercar or motorsport design (Formula 1, Supercars, WEC, etc.).
* Familiarity with data acquisition systems and integrating mechanical components with onboard electronics.
* Knowledge of race regulations and standards (FIA, etc.).
* Hands-on experience with testing and development in motorsport environments.
* Willingness to travel and attend race and/or test events (as required).
